Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is well and having a good holiday time. Todd and I are well and in the last week of our holiday. It's been really good to return to the monastery and spend some time here. We had the chance to help out again, and it's good to get out there and do some more physical work for a change (see picture above, sorry about the blurriness).
Coming back to the Wat is also a time to reconnect with good friends. As most of you know, Todd and I have lived here on and off for several years, and in that time we have made some very good friends. They are from different countries, and the monastery is the one place we always can meet up. Being here gave us the chance to see them all again, and we really appreciate this time. I also get a chance to reconnect with some other friends, those of the feline variety (see above, although this is an older picture, and one of those cats has died). Often I can be spotted wandering around with a cat slung over my shoulder. I don't get to do this very much in Myanmar, so I'm doing it as much as I can while I'm here.
Next up is going back to Bangkok, where Todd and plan to get new Myanmar visas, go to the dentist, and visit a bicycle store to outfit my new Christmas present, a bicycle! Perhaps in the next blog I'll be able to show you some shots of our adventures on the new bike. Until then, happy holidays to all!
love, Meghan

A bicycle! Bicycles are fun. I've been doing a little more bicycling every year myself. Will you have the bicycle in Myanmar? Will you commute with it to work? Have a happy New Year, and eat some delicious curry for me! Give my best to Todd -
love
Brian
