Hi everyone!
I finally seem to be successful again at posting pictures, so these are some we took last week. The first one is from our bike ride home. There's one point when we round the corner and the Shwedagon pagoda is suddenly in front of us in all it's glory. It's always an inspiring moment, which is nice as it comes at a rather tiring moment during the trip.
Then there are two pictures taken right where we buy yogurt each week. I can never resist little kitties, and as they are few and far between in Yangon, I really enjoy the chance to pick one up. Everyone is always very amazed when I do this, and I get a lot of attention. In Yangon many of the women carry their goods on their heads, and you can get a feel for this in Todd's picture (He's hamming it up a bit). This is part of our Saturday errands where we buy yogurt, eat an indian style breakfast (paratha with potato curry and okra-tomato curry, a few samosas on the side, very delicious, sorry no picture Brian!), and get fruit (usually papaya and bananas, with the occasional mango, and at the moment, strawberries!).
Next week is reading week at school, and I've decided to dress up as Todd for mixed-up Monday (a Dr. Seuss theme), and we will be filming our Narnia News program again (they need some work). It's our 3rd 4 day week in a row, which has certainly ben nice! Holidays are on a very different schedule over here to home.
Take care everyone, much love to you all.
love, Meghan
