Well if you are Todd, the answer is yes (the girl in the photo is music teacher Bekka, who chose instead to load the bike on the bus at the end of the day). Apparently he had a lovely ride home where his only difficulty was the lack of ability to see potholes and the occasional waves crashing over him from passing trucks. For myself, I waded to the bus and enjoyed the slow ride home at a sufficient elevation to avoid further dampening. To each their own, as they say. Friday was easily the rainiest day I'd seen yet this monsoon season, and that's saying something after a week of heavy rain! Outside our school was flooded and only sandbags kept the water from coming in.
Other pictures of interest include Todd and myself as we do our fruit and vegetable rounds. Instead of shopping at the supermarket, we go to the street, but selection still takes time and a few smiles.
We also had our 2nd round of visitors, as Nathan and Lucy came our way for a visit. Theirs was a shorter visit, but the skies smiled and dried up while they were here. We had a beautiful visit to shwedagon, which was particularly lively on that day. It's been great to have some visitors, and everyone who's been here usually comes away impressed.
Yangon has been in the news lately, but I don't really have anything to add to it. As I'm working all day, I've never seen the any of the goings on. Still, we all know that these things are happening and are certainly keeping an eye on it. For any of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, perhaps check the news about Myanmar, and that will help you. I choose not to comment on it due to the possibility that the authorities would take it amiss and pull the plug on blogging.
Take care all of you!
love, Meghan
