Hi everyone!
Sometimes we go a little crazy on the weekend after being with those kids all week! Don't worry, we generally return to normal by Monday.
We've finished our 3rd quarter of teaching this week, and there's only one more before the end of the year. It's interesting to see how quickly the year has gone, when there are so many more things I'd like to do with the kids. It's been great to see them grow over the year, and I'm happy that if all goes well my students will have Todd next year and I can keep track of how they're doing.
Currently we're starting to investigate what we'd like to do for our spring holiday. It's the Myanmar New Year and Water Festival, and those of you who have visited us in Thailand over Songkran will be familiar with how this festival works, lots of water, usually splashing us from head to toe whenever we go outside. My usual coping strategy is the following repeated phrase "I'm going to get wet, and that's okay." When we started thinking about what we wanted to do (it's also our anniversary), our thoughts ranged from Bangkok to beach to Nepal!?! Our current idea is to go north in Myanmar to some mountains and do some walks. We'll see what happens.
I might try Brian's mujadarrah recipe this weekend, let's see if I can make something a little tastier than lentil rice mush.
Take care and love to all!
love Meghan and Todd
